Swine Flu and CFS

A new study report found CFS occurring after a case of Swine Flu. CFS has been reported to occur after many different infections, and even rarely after immunizations. This was a case report of an adolescent boy who was diagnosed as suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome five months after infection with H1N1 influenza.

My suspicion is that CFS does not represent a single infection (as many infections are associated with the illness), but rather an immune dysfunction and energy crisis in the body which can be triggered by many causes, and then result in numerous “hitchhiker” infections. Not all infections need to be addressed (simply addressing the immune dysfunction is sometimes enough). Each new infection we uncover though, gives us new tools to address CFS.
