Seeking Volunteers to Participate in New Autoimmune Illness Study

Published: June 1, 2023

Observational Study

Open to those with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, psoriasis or ankylosing spondylitis. $100 payment to participants.

Introduction from Dr. T

Many of you know that I retired from direct patient care in November 2022 to focus on teaching. With that decision, many of my amazing team members moved on to new opportunities. Sarah, who many of you have grown to love, was one of them. She had also been my assistant and co-author of several studies we led together. So, though I am retired and not involved with this new study, I am more than happy to share her announcement today of an exciting new study opportunity! — Love & Blessings, Dr. T

Invitation from Sarah

I've started working for an amazing virtual integrative healthcare company, andhealth, that specializes in a root-cause based approach to disease reversal.  We focus on working with patients who've been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, or psoriasis, and are being treated with an injectable biologic.

We have secured funding to conduct an autoimmune observational study called "Project IMPACT," which will provide study participants who live in Ohio and have been diagnosed with one of the autoimmune diseases mentioned above with comprehensive care. I want to personally invite you or anyone else within your circle who you believe could benefit from an integrative/functional medicine approach to treatment.

And as a special thank you, participants will receive $100 for their time (even if you don’t continue with the study)!

Costs

This study is subsidized, but treatment is not entirely free. andhealth will bill your insurance and collect co-pays for this program. We also do not cover the cost of medications, but these are often covered by your health insurance.

We are not charging for delivery of food for one week, Oura ring, supplements and coaching, as the andhealth company is underwriting these fees.  The co-pays are only for the doctor's visits.

How to Participate

Requirements to be a participate in the Project IMPACT study are as follows:

  1. You must reside in the state of Ohio.
  2. You must be diagnosed with one or more of the following: rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis arthritis, psoriasis or ankylosing spondylitis.
  3. You must be between the ages of 18-70.
  4. You must have health insurance that covers our practitioner services.
  5. You must be willing to receive care related to this study through andhealth.
