Infections and Immunity

Hello Reader,

This is part 6 in my "Fatigue & Fibromyalgia Are Optional" series. This week's Brain Fog Friendly (BFF) Summary addresses infections and immunity. (From my newest edition of From Fatigued to Fantastic!)

BFF Summary

  1. The most common chronic infection we see is from Candida (yeast or fungal) overgrowth.
  2. There is no reliable test for Candida.
  3. Suspect Candida if you have chronic nasal congestion, sinusitis, or irritable bowel syndrome.

The Fatigue Super Conference

When: March 21-27

The Fatigue Super Conference is a free online event featuring over 40 of the world's most trusted fatigue experts who will speak on the different causes of fatigue, and the remedies for them. It's hosted by Alex Howard, Founder and Chairman of The Optimum Health Clinic in London, an organization that has helped patients heal from fatigue-related conditions for over 20 years.

I'm one of the featured speakers, and my topic is "The S.H.I.N.E.® Protocol for Overcoming Fatigue." Other topics will include:

  • Managing Covid and the sometimes resulting "Long Hauler" phenomenon.
  • How emotional trauma impacts energy levels.
  • Dealing with complex immune conditions, such as Lyme disease, mold toxicity, and others.
  • What foods you should eat, and which you should avoid.
  • And much, much more...

Salt Restriction Generally Not Helpful

A new study shows that, except in a few Chinese communities with extraordinarily high sodium intake, salt intake was not associated with increased cardiovascular disease. And moderate salt intake was actually associated with lower risk of heart attack and stroke compared to people who had very low salt intake. As I've said for decades, except for a few illnesses, such as heart failure, severe salt restriction is generally a bad idea. Especially in people with adrenal fatigue. Yet it is a health myth that — like the advice to avoid eggs, chocolate, coffee or tea — seems to keep getting repeated in the medical community.

Helpful medical advice for those with high blood pressure? Increase high potassium foods such as tomato juice, V-8, coconut water, and avocados. This is more important for lowering high blood pressure than salt restriction.

The herbal Berberine MetX™ can also help optimize insulin sensitivity, and therefore blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar.

Q&A of the Week

Question: I've been taking the Energy Revitalization System for 20 years with excellent results. I recently had a bone density scan and it looks like I could benefit from additional bone support.  What would you recommend I take for that?

Answer: Unless you have a history of blood clotting, I suggest adding Strontium 680 mg at night to the vitamin powder. This is an excellent combination for maintaining bone health.
