To Prevent Heart Disease, Rely on Natural Medicine

It was another bad week for standard medicine. Two main therapies for heart disease protection — cholesterol-lowering statins and blood-thinning aspirin — were found to cause more harm than good — except in those who already have angina or a personal (not family) history of strokes or heart attacks.

Safer alternatives that show dramatic benefits in preventing heart disease? Optimizing thyroid function — which is associated with a 69% lower risk of death from heart attack. And in men, optimizing testosterone when they enter andropause is important.

These dramatic improvements in heart health by optimizing hormones are just two of the reasons why I recommend that both men and women get a major "Holistic Tune Up" when they turn 45. If you're over 45 years old and haven't had your tune up, you're overdo — and you deserve it, because you deserve to be optimally healthy, whether you're young, middle-aged or in your golden years.

What about statins and aspirin for those who already have known heart disease? In that relatively small subset, these statin medications can be very helpful. And an aspirin should be chewed up at the first sign of a suspected heart attack.

But for both prevention and therapy of heart disease, natural therapies are at the top of my list — and simple, natural therapies can dramatically improve heart efficiency and function, and routinely gives people with heart disease their lives back.

If you have heart disease (and that includes many people with CFS or fibromyalgia), you need to read "Addressing Heart Problems Naturally" to learn about my heart-healing natural regimen. If you know anyone with heart disease, email it to them.

In this article, you'll read about the six key therapies for heart problems I use in my practice. These nutrients energize and protect the heart:

  1. Ribose: 5 grams, 3 times a day.
  2. Coenzyme Q10: 200 to 400 mg/day.
  3. Magnesium: 200 mg/day
  4. B Complex: 50+ mg/day
  5. Acetyl-L-carnitine: 500 mg, 2 times a day, for six weeks, then 500 mg/day.
  6. Magnesium orotate: 6,000 mg/day for one month, followed by 3,000 mg/day for 11 months. (If the label dosing is based on the magnesium content, like the KAL brand, this translates to two 100 mg tabs twice a day for 1 month, then once a day.)

Whether you have heart disease, or CFS/FMS, these simple therapies can dramatically increase energy, and give you your life back!
