Double Your Energy in 1 Minute a Day (Part 2 of 2)

What if by chewing one half to one tablet a day of a special nutrient you could get the following?

  • 67% average increase in energy
  • 44% average increase in overall well-being
  • 48% average improvement in mental clarity
  • 46% average improvement in sleep
  • 33% average decrease in pain, and
  • 72% average increase in stamina

This is what 60% of people experienced in our recent study where we gave HRG80™ Red Ginseng for one month to 188 participants who reported having at least a 50% decrease in function before the study. Quite outstanding! And most knew if it was going to help them within a month.

This is the one supplement that I routinely have on my desk. If I have a busy day with a lot of radio shows or other events, I just chew on half of one chewable tablet — and I quickly feel the effects the same day I take it. You can adjust the dose to what feels best to you . A real "WOW!" for many people who try it.

When people ask me for a simple way to begin in optimizing energy, I now have them start with a combo of three nutritional supplements::

  1. Clinical Essentials™ multivitamin tablets. 2 daily
  2. HRG80™ Red Ginseng chewable tablets ½-2 daily (although can take more)
  3. Smart Energy System™ (ribose plus 5 herbs). 1 scoop of ribose +2 capsules daily

In two of our recent studies, the HRG80 Red Ginseng plus the Smart Energy System (which I discussed in part 1 of this 2-part series) more than doubled energy in most people. This week, I want to tell you about the HRG80 Red Ginseng.

Red Ginseng, a Major Leap Forward for Energy Deficient States

I recently completed 4 studies exploring effective treatment for post-viral and other causes of severe fatigue, where study participants reported having at least a 50% decrease in function. The effects of three nutritional supplements were studied (two of which are available in the U.S., one only overseas). Results showed that the increase in energy and stamina was dramatic.

What We Studied

  1. A unique form of red ginseng, available as HRG80™ Red Ginseng. This one is the focus of today's article.
  2. A unique oral serum dipeptide mix called "Recovery Factors®." This is not yet available in the United States, but is available everywhere else from the Recovery Factors® website. If you're interested in seeing the two Recovery Factor studies (or all four studies discussed in this article), feel free to ask for them by emailing me at FatigueDoc@gmail.com.
  3. A special combination of 6 nutrients including ribose, ashwagandha, rhodiola, licorice extract, green tea extract, and Schisandra, available as the Smart Energy System™. Our study on this supplement is still being prepared for submission for publication, but it showed an average 80% increase in stamina.

Today, I'll focus on the unique HRG80™ form of red ginseng, which is what I take myself on days where I want more energy.

The Asian Miracle Recovery

For centuries, ginseng had been the most popular herb in China and much of Asia. Unfortunately, the over-harvesting of wild ginseng led to it becoming insanely expensive — over $700 a pound! Newer, farmed ginseng was tried as a substitute, but it didn't work anywhere near as well as the wild variety. So its popularity waned. I myself stopped using it in my practice over 30 years ago.

Why didn't the farmed variety work? The old wild ginseng produced over 50 different ginsenosides as a protective response to the insect attacks and difficult weather, which gave it its efficacy. But these are usually not found in most farmed ginseng. And what ginsenosides are produced by farmed ginseng are poorly absorbed and minimally effective unless converted into rare "noble" ginsenosides.

But a recently developed unique and ingenious aquaponic farming technique can reproduce the challenges the old ginseng plant faced in the wild. This new farming method now produces ginseng with the same active component profile as those original 17-year-old wild plants.

I'd given up on the herb decades ago. So when I first heard about the new farming method, my initial reaction was a brushed off "whatever." Until I tried one. Being fairly energy sensitive, I could feel the effects quickly. So, I offered it to patients I treat for the disabling fatigue of fibromyalgia. The positive result it had on so many of them was so life-changing that I decided to conduct a formal study.

I recruited 188 people with post-viral or other causes of severe debilitation who reported at least a 50% decrease in function and energy. They took either the HRG80 Red Ginseng chewable tablets (just 1/2 - 2 chewables per day) or the alternate capsule form of this (2-4 capsules per day). I'll let the published study results speak for themselves in the box below:

An Open-Label, Pilot Trial of HRG 80 Red Ginseng. Pharmaceuticals 2022, 15, 43.[1]

Results: 188 subject patients completed the one-month treatment trial. 60.1% rated themselves as improved, with 13.3% rating themselves as much better (p<.001), with a:

  • 67% average increase in energy
  • 44% average increase in overall well-being
  • 48% average improvement in mental clarity
  • 46% average improvement in sleep
  • 33% average decrease in pain
  • 72% average increase in stamina

Conclusions: this unique form of aquaponically grown red ginseng (Red Ginseng Energy) resulted in marked improvement. This included the subgroup with post-viral [debilitation].

Supporting Our Adrenal Stress Handlers in These Times of Stress

HRG80 Red Ginseng

Red ginseng has shown increased effectiveness for fatigue and cognition relative to other forms of ginseng.[3,4] It might also be especially helpful for stress-induced psychological fatigue.[5] Importantly, this may be via modulation of the cortisol stress response via the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis,[6] which is significantly impaired in CFS,[7] showing decreased adrenal gland response to CRH stimulation. As I frequently note, being 'hangry' reflects adrenal fatigue. These are two of the key mechanisms by which the stress of modern life causes this.

I find these simple tools to be a powerful way to begin the healing process for not only people suffering fatigue and cognitive dysfunction from the human energy crisis, but also chronic pain. I recommend using the chewable tablet form of the HRG80 Red Ginseng, as the natural gamma cyclodextrin increases absorption about sevenfold.

Other Benefits

In addition to dramatically increasing energy, cognition, sleep, and stamina, these forms of red ginseng provide numerous other benefits, including:

  1. Improves sexual pleasure and erectile function.[8]  Which is one of the reasons it was so popular in China. In a personal communication discussing his research, Prof. Alexander Panossian stated: "[Red Ginseng Energy] showed significant effects on the expression of genes …involved in synthesis and secretion of … follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). FSH and LH are released into the general circulation and act on the testes and ovaries to initiate and maintain reproductive function… controlling sperm production and maturation…GnRH activity influences a variety of sexual behaviors…[and] facilitate sexual displays and behavior in females. An elevation of GnRH raises testosterone capacity beyond the average range in males."
  2. Immune benefits including patrolling for tumors [9] and helping in infections.[10]
  3. Decreases inflammation.[11]
  4. Addresses a key component of pain called microglial activation.[12] Also may act as an NMDA receptor antagonist.
  5. Helps memory in general and may even help dementia.[13]
  6. Increases insulin sensitivity.[14]
  7. Even helps hangover![15]

Now that we once again have that highly effective form of ginseng from long ago, I've added it back to my list of favorite herbs. If you looked on my desk, you'd see a single supplement there that I take on days that I am busy and want to turbocharge my energy. It is the HRG80 Red Ginseng chewable tablets!
