Last week I sent a newsletter on the topic of hair loss in fibromyalgia. After I did that, one of my favorite holistic physicians and a dear friend of mine, Lev Linkner MD, sent me the below additional tips on helping hair to regrow. So I'm sharing them with you here. In the earlier newsletter, I talked about how the psyche can powerfully direct the immune system. I would not be surprised that it can also influence where blood flow and other growth factors are directed. With that possibility, here are a few simple additional tips from Dr. Linkner that might be helpful.

  1. Massage your head for 30 to 60 seconds.
  2. Imagine the top of your head is warm.
  3. In your minds eye, imagine your head is tingling.
  4. Visualize hair growth like a Chia pet!

This program will stimulate your nerves and blood vessels to tell your hair follicles to wake up and grow.

Whether you have hair loss or fatigue from any cause, thyroid testing is essential. But here is one caution.

The B vitamin biotin is critical for healthy hair, skin, and nails. That's why the Hair Renew Formula™ provides 5,000 µg of it, which is a wonderfully high level for your hair, nail and skin health. But this high level of biotin supplementation, though very healthy, interferes with thyroid blood tests for a day or two. It will often make your test results look like your thyroid levels are higher than they actually are.

An FYI — Although the Energy Revitalization Drink Mix has an excellent amount of biotin for a multivitamin (200 µg), research suggests this is not enough to significantly interfere with thyroid blood testing. But as a precaution, I would still suggest not taking the multivitamin the morning of your blood test. Just hold off and take it when you got home afterwards.
