Australian researchers analyzed data from 15 studies on depression and vitamin D, and supplementing with the vitamin D improved the condition by 22%. And, the researchers noted, the positive effect "was comparable to that of anti-depressant medication." Sunshine is an excellent way to get vitamin D and I recommend getting 1,000-2000 units a day.
