Why do I have so many symptoms of CFS, but unusually sleep like a baby?
I have had problems with excessive fatigue for 10 years now. I have progressed to the point that I have trouble getting up for work, can barely function at work, have to take a nap as soon as I get home, and I can sleep for 15 hours at a time on the weekend, and crash after any stress. I have tested positive for chronic EBV in the past. I have many symptoms of adrenal fatigue and CFS. I have suffered with an eating disorder as well. I do not have any trouble whatsoever with falling asleep and really the only time I wake during the night is to go to the bathroom. I was wondering why my problems with sleep are not the classic insomnia associated with CFS and adrenal fatigue, and because I do not have this insomnia does that exclude me from having these conditions?
Answer
It makes CFS less likely unless sleep apnea or narcolepsy are also present, does NOT exclude adrenal fatigue, and the SHINE approach will usually also help even in fatigue without insomnia. You may want to consider a phone or in person consultation where we can do a thorough assessment. Can contact Denise for more information. L&B Dr T
